Today, the GAUSS Institute – Foundation for New Technologies, Innovations, and Knowledge Transfer, presented a donation to the Union of Blind People from Bitola. The donation consists of computer equipment (10 notebook computers, printer, network equipment) and assistive software for blind people (adjusted in the Macedonian language). The funds for the donation are provided by NATO Charity Bazaar and own funds at the GAUS Institute. The ceremony was attended by Captain /N/ Gorazd Bartol, Chief of NATO Liaison Office in Skopje who also addressed the audience. In addition to Mr. Bartol, speeches were given by Prof. Dr. Igor Nedelkovski, President of the Board of the GAUSS Institute and Vlado Dimitrovski, President of the Union of Blind People from Bitola. Presentation of the use of equipment and software was performed by Vladimir Drakalski, MA from the GAUSS Institute and Mr. Zoran Sofronijevski, blind person, who demonstrated independent work on a computer with the help of donated equipment and software. The event aroused great interest among the blind people from Bitola, as well as among the wider public and the mass media.
